Meet your new Project Manager
Shari Mogren
Project Manager for Valley Community Center
In light of all of the momentum in 2023 on Valley Community Center, the board sought out a Program Manager to become the newest member of our team as we press ahead with our 2024/25 Action Plan. We heard from many wonderful applicants seeking the position. It is clear that opening a community center in Minnesota’s central St. Croix River Valley is a passion for many residents! We were grateful for all of the interest, and the board met with a few potential candidates who best fit the job’s qualifications.
Meet Shari Mogren: Valley Community Center’s new Project Manager.
As someone who grew up in and is very familiar with the St. Croix Valley, Shari expressed enthusiasm for Valley Community Center and connected immediately with the mission and core values of the project. Her motivation for the Valley Community Center to succeed as well as her experience in business development and media skills required to perform the various tasks made Shari the right person for the job. Shari was offered the Program Manager position and happily accepted.
We asked:
What element of our vision would you be most excited to contribute or build?
Shari: I am an enthusiastic and motivated freelance program manager. I produce international events, but as a civic-minded daughter of Stillwater, I am always dreaming of ways to enhance the community in which I live. I share your vision, and would love to be a part of galvanizing our community in a positive way to make the St. Croix Valley’s first Community Center happen.
What is your work superpower / zone of genius?
Shari: My love language is camaraderie. I am passionate about making all of my endeavors inclusive and welcoming. I produce everything from big, international corporate meetings to small non-profit events, but I also love planning block parties for my South Hill neighborhood.
What brings you joy outside of work?
Shari: My 3 busy boys are the light of my life. It has always been my goal to engage philanthropically in my community once they start school.
